These terms cover using Splitr itself. They are separate from the agreement you sign for any individual piece of work — that one is written by the producer or engineer, shown to you in full before you sign, and frozen at the moment you do.
Splitr connects artists with producers and engineers, and records the agreements, splits and credits that result. We provide the platform. We are not a party to the agreements made on it, and we do not perform the creative work.
You keep ownership of everything you upload. By uploading you confirm you have the right to do so, and you grant Splitr the limited permission needed to store it, deliver it to the other party, and — for demo clips you publish yourself — display it on your public profile.
Do not upload material you do not have the rights to. If someone tells us a track was uploaded without permission, we may remove it.
When you sign on Splitr, we permanently record the exact text you agreed to, your typed signature, the time, your IP address and your browser. That record cannot be edited afterwards by anyone, including us. It exists so that months later there is no argument about what was agreed.
The terms of any job — price, revisions, refunds, turnaround, credit — are set between you and the other party, not by us. Splitr records them and holds you both to what was signed.
Do not use Splitr to:
We can suspend or remove accounts that do these things. Recorded agreements and credits survive account removal, because other people rely on them.
We work to keep Splitr running but cannot promise it is never down. Keep your own copies of your files — do not treat Splitr as your only backup.
Splitr is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for disputes between users about creative work. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or on the site. Agreements already signed are unaffected — they are frozen as signed.
